Engineered synthetic platform for human intestinal organoid generation and delivery
Adriana's research aims to engineer a PEG-based hydrogel platform to grow, expand and differentiate human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into human intestinal organoids (HIO) by varying the properties of the matrix. Her project also intends to design an HIO delivery mechanism using the PEG-based hydrogel to treat intestinal injures typically seen in intestinal bowel diseases (IBDs).
Adriana obtained her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez (UPRM) and currently pursues a Bioengineering Ph.D.
